The N.A.T.O. Alliance:
No Atheist Trusts the Omniscient/Omnipotent

For many atheists their rejection of the Bible and God has a lot to do with God's supposed characteristic of omniscience/omnipotence. Do you think that within the meaning and expression and emotion of faith there is a certain trust that should be evident? If God knows everything that will ever happen, if people actually DO have contact with God, if God truly cares for man despite man's inability to know any better than to sin, shouldn't these people be able to trust that He will be faithful to His followers for their devotion as well as faithful to mankind because of His love for man?  Considering that, is it too much to ask of God to live up to His character trait of everlasting, all-powerful love and give the damn information when it is needed BEFORE the shit hits the fan and bad things happen to good, innocent people?

Surely you have heard the responses that man does indeed know better, that this is NOT how faith works, NOT how God's omniscience works, and NOT how everlasting love works, right? Sooo...God knows everything and will not tell man anything because when it comes to sin man DOES know what it is and has always done something that is sinful? I smell a rat.

Omniscience is a great power the abuse of which leads only to disaster. WHY do so many bad things happen? Doesn't God love mankind? Doesn't He want us to get along and live excellent lives enjoying the beauty around us? Why do people only see or understand the prophecy after the fact and always far too late to be able to do anything about it? What is the point of being omniscient if you never use that omniscience in a preventative manner?

Say you are walking along the street with your best pal who knows that right around the corner from where you are a large vicious dog is waiting for you. In fact, unbeknownst to you your best pal is actually the mother fucker who put the friggin' dog there in the first place. As you walk along chatting with your best pal you both finally turn the corner where the dog simultaneously bites you and gives you the scare of your life.

Why? Why why why did your best pal NOT tell you what was going to happen? I mean, it's as if He wanted the damn dog to bite you and give you the scare of your life. See, your best pal figured that there are some lessons in life that you just have not learned yet. Or, it just may be that someone else has NOT learned whatever lesson it is they were supposed to learn and your best pal decided that the best course of action would be to use you and tragedy heaped upon you to teach them a lesson.

What would you think about that best pal of yours? I bet you would be pretty tissed, right? I mean, not only did he not warn you specifically of the danger to which you were headed, but the asshole put that dog there. Essentially, your best pal brought the danger to you. Let's say that this is not the first time your best pal has done this to you. Perhaps in a separate situation your best pal knew someone had fiddled with the brakes on your car...and yet he still said nothing. After you are in a serious car accident where you lose a limb and are in a coma for three weeks you find out your best pal knew...but chose to say nothing. Or maybe your best pal allows you to be arrested for a crime you did not commit, say murder, and you are sentenced to fifty years in prison. Nice pal you got there.

This is exactly what happens with God, right? Many good people have bad things happen to them, while many bad people have good things happen to them, and then there is everything inbetween. And all the while when I used to believe in God and the truth of the Bible I was taught that God knew everything, but the sinful nature of man prevented that omniscience from rubbing off on man, or even from giving man a heads-up when something really crappy was about to go down.

So HOW do people know that God is omniscient? Where is the PROOF of God's omniscience? Wait. Don't tell me...uhm...it must be in the Bible, right? Of course it is. For those who grow up immersed in distorted monotheistic faiths that contain a surprising number of elements that link them back to pagan religion in antiquity, these faiths ALWAYS claim that God knows everything. Of course, it is God who is the one doing the claiming that He knows everything.

So God really  knows everything, or the claim is just a conversation piece? And how do we even know if He is telling the truth when God time and again fails to give pertinent information BEFORE the fact, before disturbed individuals show up at a school and start killing students and teachers, before a levy breaks and flood waters wash away a good portion of a modern city to include many elderly patients who were non-ambulatory and bed ridden, before a president is assassinated, before six million Jews were murdered by a maniac and his faithful legions of doom. And yes, BEFORE terrorists who were members of an equally twisted monotheistic faith hijacked planes and flew them into buildings.

When I was a kid I worried about why God let bad things happen. If He knew knew so goddamn much (and isn't He supposed to know everything?) why wasn't He helping? What was the point of knowing everything if He wasn't going to tell at least someone who might then be able to do something. I was taught that God appointed Jesus to do that. Jesus knew everything and when you accepted Him into your heart, ta-da! Everything would work out swell when you died and went to the places of eternity. Of course, while you were still on earth in your human body lots of crazy shit could and probably would still happen to you.

I was told and taught that only God knows everything, that Satan knew SOME things (which never made sense to me), and that man knew nothing (which made even less sense to me). It was totally up to God to consider what He should tell us or reveal to us, and even then it was scant information being as though since man has a fallen nature we deserve punishment. I think this is a bullshit answer, packaged real pretty-like in a neat little box called religious stupidity. I don't think it has anything to do with deserving punishment or being born into sin.

I think the reason why God does not share His omniscience and issue warning statements and simple to understand prophecies about what is going to happen is due to an entirely different reason: I think it is highly possible and even more likely probable that God has been lying to people since He first revealed Himself to man BECAUSE...

...the truth is very likely that God is not omniscient AT ALL. That is why bad crap happens to good people. God doesn't know anything more about the future than what everybody else knows. But, since man finding out that God is not omniscient after all simply wouldn't do, God's followers cook up some crap explanation that allowing bad things to happen brings people to trust in Jesus and receive eternal salvation, and even to pay the consequences that MUST be paid for various actions/sins.

I think the followers and believers of the Bible and God are trying to find a cover story to hide the fact that God is not in the least bit omnipotent. Not at all. Part of this cover-up is a collection of sicko predictions and prediction-like curses in a book that is founded on fairy tales to the most ridiculous degree. Those creating the predictions made them broad enough to where just about any prophecy  in the Bible could be taken and forced to fit just about any situation and motive.

Yet, according to the bleating faithful God is the All-Knowing, the Omnipotent One. Sometimes He even takes the time to whisper prophetic nothings in the ears of His faithful so that they might utilize this special knowledge, so lovingly given by this Merciful God, to turn the hearts of mankind to Jesus and everlasting love and peace.

What better way to prove the impotence of God and His vague, nonsense prophecies that are only good for the Sunday Funnies or the freaking supermarket tabloids than by cracking open the Bible and taking a good look around?

For a God who is supposed to know everything from eternity past to eternity future, well, He sure does drop the ball a lot when it comes to His endless supply of knowledge. The so-called prophecies in the Bible have time and again been treated like saltwater taffy, their easily distorted meanings quite pliant as the faithful children of this God work hard to make every prophecy mean whatever it is they want it to mean.

Every single time some great calamity unveils itself to the world be it plagues, mega wars, pestilence, famine, or some freak of nature disaster the ever-faithful legions of the spiritually deluded jump up on their soap boxes and whoop and holler that whatever has happened was predicted in the Bible, that God gave fair warning of what was going to happen, and more than likely is a well-deserved punishment sent by God, express mail, to humankind.

What makes this particular subject even MORE hilarious is when some of these same people even go the distance of trying to use that seer of seers, Nostradamus, to bolster their claims. The tragedy of 9/11 is an excellent example. Hurricane Katrina is another.

It is important to note just when these individuals step forward with their Bible or Nostradamus quatrain. It is always AFTER the disaster, isn't it? Many believers try to use these writings to prove the existence of God. See? God says this in the Bible and it happened. See? Nostradamus says this and it happened. See? Both the Bible and Nostradamus said this and it happened.

The prophecy in the Bible is largely about what will happen to those who do not believe, those who renounce God, those who for whatever reason pissed God off and deserve horrible judgment. Daniel, Isaiah and Revelation are a few of the books in the Bible from which the so-called prophecies are gleaned. While there are some pretty interesting prophecies in these books I find some of the prophecies in Deuteronomy to be quite twisted, particularly cruel, and disturbing.

Sure, Deuteronomy does mention the LORD reiterating His promise to make His people a great nation with people numbering as the stars in the heavens, but if you look closely you will see there are far more negative and terrible prophecies God makes against His own people than there are happy prophecies made. There are plenty of folks who disagree and say that the verses I will go over in this post are NOT prophecy, but divine warnings from God. Whatever. If you want to split that hair go right on ahead. I think God's words here do qualify as prophecy since He is specifically stating exactly what will happen in the future when man does not listen.

And away we go, but first, I thought this video was interesting and so included it:

And now, Part V of the questions for the book of Deuteronomy.

1. Deuteronomy 28:9
The LORD will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in his ways.

Questions

     1) Why are God's predictions and promises always contingent on man's full cooperation sans screw-ups? According to God man is not perfect, so wouldn't requiring mere mortal men to absolutely follow every decree and edict and heavenly law concocted by Mr. Yahweh be quite unfair and totally impossible considering God's emphatic opinion that man cannot do anything correctly on his own since he is born into total and utter sin?

     2) God totally misleads people with His let's-play-a-game-of-twisted-semantics prophecy, right? So God will establish the people as holy unto Himself IF they keep His commandments and walk in His ways? But, didn't we just establish that even according to God's own words/announcements that man is imperfect and cannot do anything lasting or right without God and without screwing it up? Sooo...obviously man will not be able to keep God's commandments and ways, correct?

     3) Sooo...if man is incapable of doing anything right on his own, thus ruining any chances of being able to do anything even remotely correct...well, well...what happens then? Well, boys and girls, could it be God is then free to revoke His promise?

2. Deuteronomy 28:12-14
12 The LORD will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

13 And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them,

14 and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Questions

     1) The LORD's good treasury? God may have many treasures, but I think they are less like the treasure to be found in a sunken Spanish galleon and more like the unpleasant treasures of Pandora's Box, don't you?

     2) So, is the problem that the LORD may have prophecied/promised to make you the head, but the head He made you has no brains?

3. Deuteronomy 28:16-63, 68
This next question consists of the majority of an entire chapter. There were so many jacked up verses I did not want to leave anything out. Instead of lumping all of the questions together after first listing all of the applicable verses what I will do here is simply type in each question directly underneath the verse it is referring to.

In addition, I am counting what God says here in these verses as prophecy for a very simple reason. God already knows exactly what is going to happen, right? If it isn't going to happen God isn't going to say it because it wouldn't be true.

16 Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field.

Questions

     1) What is God saying here? You can run but you can't hide from the out of control anger of the LORD?

17 Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

Questions

     1) Isn't this nice? So never mind that God already cursed the ground when He kicked man out of the Garden of Eden, but God is going to do His damnedest to bring the curse of man's sustenance full circle by cursing the food down to the very loaf of bread and the cooking instruments?

     2) You know what this sounds like? Do you remember when Eddie Murphy did a show called Eddie Murphy Raw? Well, he was doing his stand-up comedy routine and talks about when an ex-girlfriend or something was so pissed off when they broke up that she took everything...even the ice trays from the freezer; Eddie Murphy quite appropriately identified the woman as a sick bitch.God totally sounds like that kind of person in this verse.

18 Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.

Questions

     1) Sooo...did God even bother to remember that more than just a few times He did tell the people to be fruitful and multiply?

     2) What the hell happened to that divine siren song of Follow Me and I Will Give You Everything You Want?

19 Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

Questions

     1) Aren't these words of love from the Everlasting God just the right kind of seed to plant peace in your heart?

20 The LORD will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in all that you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken me.

Questions

     1) Didn't God do something of this sort at the Tower of Babel? Do you remember what God said to Himself as far as Babel was concerned? Didn't He say something along the lines of not approving of men all working together since, if they continued to work together who knows what they could accomplish?

     2) Doesn't God know that His purposeful meddlings and manipulations are not helping anything, much less His popularity? Doesn't He know that if you want someone to love you for who you are and without reservation they must be able to trust you and you must not use their fears against them?

21 The LORD will make the pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

Questions

     1) Is what God basically saying here that, sure, He did promise them this land and finally they are going about possessing it, but never at any time did God promise they would maintain it forever?

     2) Now, if God's people are supposed to number as the stars in heaven, exactly how many people here are we talking about God consuming with pestilence? Would it be something like the European Black Death outbreaks in the 14th century which killed up to 200 million people? Would it be something more along the lines of an African continent pandemic like Ebola?

22 The LORD will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought and with blight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish.

Questions

     1) Why is God constantly badgering and bullying His people? Wasting disease? You mean like God wasting the time of His 'holy' people by dragging them to and fro across the desert? Or maybe it means God is wasting all of the love He could very well be showing people instead of using His greatest efforts to make everyone and every living being on the planet aware of His mighty wrath?

     2) Is this disgusting way of speaking to any being supposed to strike fear and respect in the hearts of men when it comes to God?

     3) The God of the Bible is so righteous and trustworthy and pure...that He has to threaten people in order to get them to comply with His supposedly perfect will?

     4) Who IS this God who creates life and then threatens to kill it?

23 The skies above will be as unyielding as bronze, and the earth beneath will be as hard as iron.

Questions

     1) How in the world does God think this threat will matter or mean a damn thing considering in the preceding verses God said He would strike the people with pestilence until there were no more of them left in the land? If the people are already dead from the previous threat what the fuck difference is this new threat going to make?

     2) God is supposed to be perfect but wastes His own time and His own breath issuing more predictions of curses that will come true? And yes, these are predictions by God since God and the Bible both agree that everyone falls short, these are God's penalties, everyone is worthy of the penalties because sooner or later every person sins in some way or another in regards to God's specific commands.

     3) Didn't God already curse the ground when He booted Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden? Surely you remember the massive devastation of the Flood as well? Sooo...what ELSE can God do to the land that He hasn't already done?

24 The LORD will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed.

Questions

     1) Doesn't this sound like the fallout ash from a volcanic eruption?

25 The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Questions

     1) There are a few folks out there who like to claim that this verse is referring to what happened in the Holocaust, but can't you see the wording of this verse is just broad enough to make it fit about anything? With a little finesse you could make it fit the tribulations the Native Americans went through after President Andrew Jackson legalized ethnic cleansing and within seven years about 46,000 natives were removed and some 25 million acres of ancestral lands seized.

26 And your dead body shall be food for all birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away.

Questions

     1) Well, well, but don't we have quite the problem here? Does God remember that when He created the birds of the air He did not make all of them carnivorous, or even all omnivorous? But the verse does say ALL the birds of the air, correct? Sooo...do you think Mr. Chickadee, Mr. Wren, Mr. Parakeet, Mr. Cockatoo, Mr. Pigeon and all of their pals would all be snacking together on bodies?

     2) No one to frighten them away? Really? Cuz...I was thinking that God did such a damn fine job with His use of fear to frighten people to death I am SURE a few birds would be no problem whatsoever.

27 The LORD will strike you with the boils of Egypt, and with tumors and scabs and itch, of which you cannot be healed.

Questions

      1) Ohhhh...but isn't God lying here, hummm? Sure the people could get boils and all of that happiness, but they are not incurable since GOD could cure them, right? Here we have a wonderful case of God withholding treatment for lethal illnesses that weren't even brought on by natural causes.

28 The LORD will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of mind,

Questions

     1) Sooo...the LORD will strike me with madness and blindness and confusion because it just wasn't enough to kill me with the wasting disease and the tumors and the scabs?

29 and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to help you.

Questions

     1) What else is God doing here but taking away everything that people need in order to survive and live?

     2) And why won't there be someone to help me? Is it because if they were not already suffering from one of God's generous viral/bacterial sharing programs it was likely God threatened them with something unpleasant if they helped?

30 You shall betroth a wife, but another man shall ravish her. You shall build a house, but you shall not dwell in it. You shall plant a vineyard, but you shall not enjoy its fruit.

Questions

     1) How can any sane person read this shit and WANT to believe in God? Allowing a man's wife to be raped? Is this what you do, God? Is this how you turn people to you?

31 Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you shall not eat any of it. Your donkey shall be seized before your face, but shall not be restored to you. Your sheep shall be given to your enemies, but there shall be no one to help you.

Questions

     1) Uhmmm...with all of the animal sacrifice that takes place within the camp of God's people do you really think they will be bothered by watching yet another animal be killed right before them?

32 Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, while your eyes look on and fail with longing for them all day long, but you shall be helpless.

Questions

     1) Doesn't this sound like what has happened to slaves all over the world and through all points in history? Has God ever seen the movie Roots or The Color Purple, or Little Big Man?

     2) Do you notice that even if by some fluke or sheer force of will that God's people manage to do something that truly pleases Him, He always finds a way to punish SOMEONE somewhere in the world?

33 A nation that you have not known shall eat up the fruit of your ground and of all your labors, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually,

Questions

     1) How the hell can the people have fruit of the ground to be taken by others/enemies when not all that far back from this point in the Bible God did curse the ground to not put out?

34 You shall be driven mad by the sight of what you see.

Questions

     1) Don't you think a better way of putting it is people will be driven crazy as day in and day out they see the trouble and evil and sorrow and misfortune that God finds excuses for to heap upon them?

35 The LORD will cover your knees and legs with incurable boils. In fact, you will be covered from head to foot.

Questions

     1) Awwwww...does God have a soft spot for grievously torturing humans?

36 The LORD will exile you and your king to a nation unknown to you and your ancestors. There in exile you will worship gods of wood and stone!

Questions

     1) Isn't this about the limit of stupid? God is going to give these people a promised land and then He is going to kill oodles of them and after that He is going to take whoever is left and make them wander the globe like He did to Cain?

37 And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the LORD will lead you away.

Questions

     1) Isn't this another of the verses that Bible-eager folks try to use to establish God was referring to the Jewish people and their suffering in World War II?

38 You shall carry much seed into the field and shall gather in little, for the locust shall consume it.

Questions

     1) Well, dammit! God needs to make up His freaking mind. He banishes man from the Garden of Eden and as a parting gift He curses the ground, later on curses the ground again just incase the ground misunderstood God's command and was still giving people something, but then here says the freaking locusts will eat the crop? What fucking crop, you damn ninny! You cursed the ground several times, or don't you remember?

39 You shall plant vineyards and dress them, but you shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm shall eat them.

Questions

     1) Sooo...now it is the worms destroying the crops and not the locusts or the cursed ground?

40 You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives shall drop off.

Questions

     1) Ooohhh...so NOW the ground is producing something in the form of olive trees?

41 You shall father sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours, for they shall go into captivity.

Questions

     1) Suffer the little children unto me? Again? Lots of people try to argue this verse references the Holocaust when the children and parents were separated. However, this could also be applied to many other groups who were separated from their children, families torn apart: Africans, Native Americans, Mexicans, Irish, the Chinese, East Indian...the list goes on and on. Don't EVEN try to pretend it could ONLY apply to God's chosen people.

42 The cricket shall possess all your trees and the fruit of your ground.

Questions

     1) Why does God seem to persist forgetting what He cursed and how? Sooo...we have gone from just straight cursing the ground to be stubborn for the farmer, to the ground being hard like iron and not producing anything at all, to locusts mowing everything down, to worms staking a claim in this ridiculous party...seriously? Now we are at crickets?

43 The sojourner who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower.

Questions

     1) Don't you think this verse quite adeptly describes imperialism? Isn't this what God ordered His own people to do to the Canaanites and a whole slew of other folks?

44 He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him. He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.

Questions

     1) The tail, hummm? I suppose that makes great sense if you consider that shit rolls downhill and a tail could be interpreted as being downhill, and doesn't God seemingly enjoy placing His people in situations where they are up to their eyeballs in shit?

45 All these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you till you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you.

Questions

     1) I want to know how God figures to make ALL of these curses happen to His people when within the first few curses of God's laundry list of horrors to pile upon the people they would have been killed? Is He planning to bring them back to life over and over so that all of His predictions and curses can come true and then people cannot call Him a liar?

46 They shall be a sign and a wonder against you and your offspring forever.

Questions

     1) Isn't it true that the only things that are against the people and their offspring forever are those things which good old God has manipulated to be so?

47 Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things,

Questions

     1) How in the freak does God expect people to serve Him with joy and gladness when all He does is threaten people if they even look like they have something else in mind than whatever twisted adventure God has stirred up for them?

48 therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness, and lacking everything. And he will put a yoke of iron on your neck until he has destroyed you.

Questions

     1) Do you think that since God made man in His own image and since God regularly mistreats man, do you think God mistreats His other two parts to His being?Instead of agreeing with the general view that this is actually about the Jews suffering some terrible down the road prophecy, try to think of all the situations and people throughout history that this verse could apply to.

49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, swooping down like the eagle, a nation whose language you do not understand,

Questions

     1) Oh my, my! This must be a reference to the Nazis, right? Please. Go crack open a history book on historic symbology and take a gander at all the countries and governments that have utilized the eagle in their nations' representations.

50 a hard-faced nation who shall not respect the old or show mercy to the young.

Questions

     1) What flipping difference does this make when the biggest violator of human rights is God Himself? Do you really think one group of people are going to respect another group of people who worship a God that is intentionally cruel, a God Who is so ever-loving demented and violent that the people will not even consider telling Him to get lost, and take His little black heart of hatred with Him?

51 It shall eat the offspring of your cattle and the fruit of your ground, until you are destroyed; it also shall not leave you grain, wine, or oil, the increase of your herds or the young of your flock, until they have caused you to perish.

Questions

     1) Isn't this just pitiful? Threats, threats, and more threats. Then for good measure even more threats after that?

52 They shall besiege you in all your towns, until your high and fortified walls, in which you trusted, come down throughout all your land. And they shall besiege you in all your towns throughout all your land, which the LORD your God has given you.

Questions

     1) Did title to this 'promised land' ever really pass from God to His people considering that He always found a way to weasel out of the promise and have them scattered about or killed?

53 And you shall eat the fruit of your womb, the flesh of your sons and daughters, whom the LORD your God has given you, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemies shall distress you.

Questions

     1) You know what I am going to say here, right? More of suffer the little children unto God?

54 The man who is the most tender and refined among you will begrudge food to his brother, to the wife he embraces, and to the last of the children whom he has left,

Questions

     1) Why does God make this sound so dastardly when this is exactly what He allowed Jacob to do to Esau when Esau was faint with hunger and Jacob would not give him food unless Esau traded his birthright?

     2) And just WHO is doing the begrudging of food here when all of these terrible curses and famines and destructive wars ALWAYS begin with God?

55 so that he will not give to any of them any of the flesh of his children whom he is eating, because he has nothing else left, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in all your towns.

Questions

     1) God gets so pissed off that He creates a situation where people have to eat their own children to survive, arguing over who gets to eat the child?

56 The most tender and refined woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because she is so delicate and tender, will begrudge to the husband she embraces, to her son and to her daughter,

Questions

     1) You do remember that right before Adam and Eve left the garden God was noted as having specifically said that He was placing enmity with man? Did man ever really understand the depth of that enmity and how dangerously deluded God was?

57 her afterbirth that comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears, because lacking everything she will eat them secretly, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in your towns.

Questions

     1) Do these verses bother you? Do you see the horror of what it is to be a child of God or a member of God's chosen people? To live is to love and to love is to live, but God does not want that for people, because apparently He seems to thrive a bit more so long as someone is suffering, correct? Does God need fear and horror and subjugation in order to survive? Are they His divine heroin?

58 If you are not careful to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, the LORD your God,

     1) Fear? Don't you think disgust would be more appropriate?

59 then the LORD will bring on you and your offspring extraordinary afflictions, afflictions severe and lasting, and sicknesses grievous and lasting.

Questions

     1) Has God taken His ultimate love and creativity and squandered it on hate and sadism?

60  And he will bring upon you again all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you.

Questions

     1) Would it be accurate to say God goes well beyond possibly having mere personality disorders and is far more likely to be found a psycho-sociopath?

61 Every sickness also and every affliction that is not recorded in the book of this law, the LORD will bring upon you, until you are destroyed.

Questions

     1) Does this mean Ebola, Smallpox, Herpes, Syphilis, AIDS, Cancer, Diabetes, Renal disorders, pulmonary illnesses...and every other dreadful malady you can think of or know to exist?

62 Whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, you shall be left few in number, because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God.

Questions

     1) Sooo...what is a few in number if you consider the stars of the heavens are what...about one hundred thousand million in the Milky Way alone, and there are about one hundred billion galaxies thus far in what we know about the universe?

63 And as the LORD took delight in doing you good and multiplying you, so the LORD will take delight in bringing ruin upon you and destroying you. And you shall be plucked off the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

Questions

     1) The more I read the Bible what do you think I found more of? God's anger and violence and desire for blood. God delights in nothing more than cruelty and shame and dishonor is you go by even only HALF of what is in the Bible, right?

68 And the LORD will bring you back in ships to Egypt, a journey that I promised that you should never make again; and there you shall offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.

Questions

     1) This is so stupid, because when the LORD took them out of Egypt He said they were never to return, right? So how in the hell does this SNAFU play out?

Look, these are not hard questions. If you believe in God and if you believe in the Bible as the actual literal truth then answer some of these questions. Don't be shy. Don't hold back. For Christ's sake DEFEND what you believe. It isn't that difficult, is it? Tell me WHY you believe...give me a reason why you believe this stuff to be good for you. Defend your God.
