Psalms Part VII

     Finally we have the very last posting for the Book of Psalms!!! Enjoy!!!

1. Psalm 83:15-18

     15 so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.

     16 Cover their faces with shame, Lord, so that they will seek your name.

     17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace.

     18 Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord— that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Questions

     1. Pursue and terrify and bring to shame so that the enemy will seek the name of the Lord? Why? Is that how the Lord/God really wants people to seek Him out?

     2. Where is the truth of spiritual freedom if someone is seeking the Lord/God out of shame and terror?

     3. Is seeking the Lord/God out of shame and terror truly seeking out God/the Lord from personal choice, or is it more of an arm-twisting technique employed by the Great Divine to push man towards choosing what God/the Lord wants for man?

     4. If God/the Lord loves everyone and wants everyone to come to Him and His mighty love, why in the hell would someone make a prayer or song to God/the Lord where they ask the Lord that those against them perish in disgrace?

     5. If God/the Lord is so freaking good to begin with and so ever-present and so obvious then why don't people automatically gravitate to Him? Wouldn't the ultimate mighty-ness of the power and love of God/the Lord supersede any kind of negative thinking of man that would stand in the way of man seeking out the ultimate in truth and love?

     6. If God/the Lord is all-powerful how is it that ANYTHING could blind a man in any way and keep him from seeking out God? Why would man even need to seek out God/the Lord in the first place if God/the Lord is already everywhere and thus by nature everywhere where man is?

2. Psalm 85:7

     7 Show us your unfailing love, Lord, and grant us your salvation.

Questions

     1. Okay, I have a problem with this verse, right? Show us your unfailing love? Do you see the problem here? If God's love is unfailing and if God is the ultimate in power in the universe then the unfailing love of God/the Lord would be apparent to man, correct? 

     2. There would not be the need to show man anything in regards to the Lord/God if the power of God/the Lord is above all and everything, right? Would not all and everything include the mind and the thinking and the actions of mere men? If such is the case, it does not matter what is in the heart of man or the mind of man since man cannot be greater than God/the Lord, right? 

     3. If the power of God/the Lord and His love and authority are so great then NOTHING conceived of by man can block it or stop it or remove it or hide it...because if such happens then that means the power of God/the Lord is being blocked and He isn't so awfully powerful after all, right?

3. Psalm 85:12

     12 The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.

Questions

     1. If the Lord/God is everywhere at all times (ever-present, Omni-Present) and if what is 'good' is the inherent nature of the Lord/God, how can the Lord/God give what is good when what is good is already there? You can't give what is already present, right?

4. Psalm 86:11

     11 Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

Questions
     1. Why would you want the people that follow you to fear you? Isn't that kind of like living in a Communist nation? Seriously. People following the Lord are constantly living in fear of every friggin' thing proceeding from God. WTF, right? 

     2. Don't true leaders lead/govern from compassion and love? 

     3. Do you think that fear is part of true leadership?

5. Psalm 86:17

     17 Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

Questions
     1. First of all, why do you want to put your enemies to shame? Don't you want them to join you and become part of you? Would you want your enemies to shame you?

     2. Wouldn't you want to give your enemies guidance to what is good and right and just? Would you simply try to guide them and not shame them? 

     3. There is a difference in getting people to follow by shaming them and filling them with fear as opposed to allowing them to follow out of devotion and love. Shame and fear imply that brainwashing is being utilized. Does it make sense to get people to follow by shaming them?

6. Psalm 89:3-4

     3 You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,

     4 ‘I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’ ”

Questions
     1. Why is David a servant if he is a king? The Lord's servant? Does not a king serve his people and the king has his own servants?

     2. If David's line was so ever-loving firm why are there people who consistently question this supposedly firm line?

     3. Sooo, if the Lord/God is King...is He not then ALSO a servant to US? Wouldn't the Lord/God then be worshiping His own people?

7. Psalm 89:6-7

     6 For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?

     7 In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.

Questions
     1. What do these verses imply? Are there other beings in the sky? Sooo, do you mean WHO as in there ARE NO other heavenly beings?

     2. Who is like the Lord/God among the heavenly beings? Sooo, there ARE other heavenly beings? Aliens?

     3. Sooo, if there ARE NO OTHER heavenly beings WHY is there a council of the holy ones?

     4. WHO makes up the council of the holy ones and WHO put it together?

     5. If the Lord/God is the greatest ever WHY is there this council of the holy ones? WHY would the Lord/God need to be part of any kind of council?

8. Psalm 91:9-12

     9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling,

     10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.

     11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;

     12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Questions
     1. If the Lord/God is the greatest EVER and is everywhere why in the freaky-doo is He having to send angels to take care of ANYONE if He alone does EVERYTHING?

9. Psalm 95:10-11

     10 For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’

     11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ 

Questions
     1. God/the Lord was angry for forty goddamn years STRAIGHT?

     2. When did the Lord/God stop being angry, and when did He get angry again?

     3. Has the Lord/God ever heard of anger management and Zoloft or Paxil?

10. Psalm 100:3

     3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Questions
     1. Why can't we be the people of the Lord's pasture and know that we are HERS? Or maybe God is androgynous? 

     2. Do you know what the sheep in a flock are for? Don't you know sheep are always used in some way? Whether it is for wool or for milk or for meat the sheep are always used, right? USED. Sooo, what does God/the Lord use the people of His flock of sheep for?

     3. Why does the Lord/God have to have so much fear in order to fellowship with His sheep? If the Lord's people function like sheep they have no thought, right?

11. Psalm 100:4

     4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Questions
     1. Give Him thanks for fucking WHAT? War? Pestilence? Violence? Jacked-up laws?

     2. Why does a God who is everywhere need gates? Why does He need courts?

     3. If God is everywhere then people can worship Him anywhere, right? Is not everything supposed to be in, of, for and to God? Wouldn't everything be 'joined' in Him in that sense and then negate the need for courts or anything of the like?

12. Psalm 103:17

     17 But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—

Questions
     1. Sooo, would you want your children and their children to fear you so you can show them love and affection?

     2. If you have one everlasting why the fuck would you need another?

     3. Sooo, did the people of God who died during the Holocaust NOT fear God enough and so He let them be murdered? SOMEBODY fucked up on that one, didn't He?

13. Psalm 103:19

     19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.

Questions
     1. If the Lord is everywhere why does He need a throne?

     2. If the Lord rules over all and over everything and everyone, why am I sitting here typing on how much He sucks as a ruler?

14. Psalm 103:20-21

     20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.

     21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.

Questions
     1. Thank GOD I am a fucking woman because all the angels are male, right? Just kidding. I have a hard time being serious with stupid shit.

     2. If God is all-present and all-powerful why in the hell does He need anyone or anything, whether or not it is angels or heavenly beings, to do His bidding?

15. Psalm 111:4-5

     4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.

     5 He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.

Questions
     1. I do not fear God and yet I still eat. Sooo, how does this fearing God in order to eat work?

     2. The Lord is gracious and compassionate BUT you need to fear Him in order to eat?

     3. Which of His covenants has God decided to remember here?

16. Psalm 116:15

     15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.

Questions
     1. WTF? What are the servants of the Lord gaining when they die? Everlasting life? This totally sounds like something that the terrorists would cling to in order to justify their dastardly deeds, right?

     2. Sooo, if I am not a faithful servant of God I have a pretty good chance of living, right?

17. Psalm 141:5

     5 Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness; let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

Questions
     1. A righteous man would not strike another, would he?

18. Psalm 150:6

     6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

Questions
     1. Sooo, do the demons and the aliens and the Nephilim praise the Lord?

Job Part II: Just a Few Questions

With ALL of these questions posed in regards to the Bible wouldn't it be nice to be able to access the questions in one place instead of flipping between blog postings? Now you can! Oh, yes...this guy is STILL getting smacked around!

Poor Job. Poor poor Job. This guy was the little soccer ball of misery that the LORD/God kicked around in a little soccer match with Satan as the LORD/God tried to prove to Satan just how loyal and special Job was. Did the angels/heavenly host shout "GOOOAAAALLLLLL!" each time Job was slammed with some new tidbit of living horror? Who knows? The fact remains, though, that there is a whole lot more than some poor devotee of God/the LORD getting pummeled for no damn good reason in the Book of Job. The author/authors tries/try very hard to use the completely insane story of Job to validate much of the LORD/God's terrible behavior as well as try to validate many of the unjust and nonsense punishments heaped upon mankind.

So, let's get to continuing with the questions for the Book of Job.

1. Job 2:9

9 His wife said to him, "Are you still trying to maintain your integrity? Curse God and die."

Questions

     1) The Bible doesn't pass up a chance to crap all over women, right? Here, much like Eve supposedly did unto Adam, Job's wife offers terrible advice. A woman told Adam to eat the bad fruit, a woman wrangled the secret of his strength from Sampson, a woman contributed to the fall of the doomed Ahab and here a woman is noted as having told her husband to curse God. What do these things tell you about God's opinion of women?

     1) God never mentions having a mother. I mean, Jesus has Mary, but God apparently didn't have a mother. Is this why He has such an obvious problem with women? He didn't have a mommy to love Him?

2. Job 2:10

10 But Job replied, "You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?" So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.

Questions

     1) God is perfect, right? How can there be ill with His good...unless it intones balance?

     2) If there must be ill with the good in order for there to be a balance, how does God plan to defeat evil at the Battle of Armageddon? 

     3) Wouldn't God be defeating Himself in defeating evil? Without evil there would be no balance, correct? Thus, the idea of good defeating evil is utter lunacy, correct?

     4) Wouldn't it then follow that the idea of God only doing good is an equally lunatic ideology? 

3. Job 2:12

12 And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

Questions

     1) Why make a show of sorrow? For attention? What does this behavior accomplish? How does it impact the situation? Do these men do this to show God their displeasure and pain and suffering? Why? Wouldn't God already know how they feel? Wouldn't they know that God already knows how they feel and think?

4. Job 3:1-4

1 After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.

2 And Job said:

3 “Let the day perish on which I was born, and the night that said, ‘A man is conceived.’

4 Let that day be darkness! May God above not seek it, nor light shine upon it.

Questions

     1) Sooo...cursing the day he was born accomplishes WHAT except maybe for a bit of venting?

5. Job 3:16

16 Why wasn't I buried like a stillborn child, like a baby who never lives to see the light?

Questions

     1) Sooo...as Job is whining about his life does he even consider what his death in infancy or in utero would have done to his mother in particular?

6. Job 4:6

6 Doesn't your reverence for God give you confidence? Doesn't your life of integrity give you hope?

Questions

     1) Listen to the words of this verse and consider another message within them. For those who fear God...isn't that their confidence? For those who claim integrity of their ways in God as their hope, is that not their own choice of hope?

     2) How can people like this assume OR assert that their fear of God/the LORD or their perceived integrity due to this fear that governs their spiritual and physical life, be the same for another person or culture? Or that it SHOULD be the same for another culture or another person?

7. Job 4:7

7 "Stop and think! Do the innocent die? When have the upright been destroyed?

Questions

     1) Do you really want this question answered? We would have to start with Adam and Eve, correct?

8. Job 4:17

17 ‘Can mortal man be in the right before God? Can a man be pure before his Maker?

Questions

     1) What do you think? Let's put it this way: If a God tells His faithful servant to fly a plane loaded with people into a building also loaded with people and the faithful servant not only says NO but FUCK NO, is that man not more righteous than his God?

9. Job 5:6-7

6 But evil does not spring from the soil, and trouble does not sprout from the earth.

7 People are born for trouble as readily as sparks fly up from a fire.

Questions

     1) How the fuck is man born for trouble when it is the supposed Maker of man Who sought to sew evil in the garden and then allowed man to be tricked into eating it?

10. Job 5:8-10

8  "If I were you, I would go to God and present my case to him.

9 He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles.

10 He gives rain for the earth and water for the fields.

Questions

     1) Who does horrible things that cannot be fathomed, man or God? Who promises to do wonderful things but finds ways to revoke joy and love and promises of peace? Who withholds the rain to starve men by denying harvest? Who sends water to the depth of cubits above the highest mountain peak to destroy all life?

I Kings Part IV: Just a Few Questions

All Hail the King!

If you thought that the tail end of Solomon's reign wasn't that bad and things really shouldn't get all that much worse...you are wrong. When Solomon dies the LORD puts His plan to garner more attention into overdrive. If you thought the people of Israel have done their share of suffering, well that might be true, but apparently God/the LORD does not think so as evidenced by the worsening situations His people continue to find themselves in.

We continue with the questions for the book of I Kings.

1. I Kings 11:39

39 And I will afflict the offspring of David because of this, but not forever.

Questions

     1) Are you in the least bit surprised that God/the LORD would take this approach? Making the children of the wrongdoer pay the toll on the consequence wrought by their ancestor's willful fuck-ups? 

     2) Oooohh, I see. This must be another preemptive installment of Suffer the Little Children unto Me, correct? I mean, what the hell else can it be since God is referring to the literal offspring of King David?

     3) It is the last three words of the verse that really get under my skin: but not forever. But not forever? Was God wanting and trying to look and sound nice and considerate, as though He even considerately cut the duration of the punishment out of mercy?

     4) What is wrong with this picture? Those last three words: BUT NOT FOREVER. Do those last three words do ANYTHING AT ALL to make any of the other words in the verse any better?

2. I Kings 12:3-4
3 And they sent and called him, and Jeroboam and all the assembly of Israel came and said to Rehoboam,

4 “Your father made our yoke heavy. Now therefore lighten the hard service of your father and his heavy yoke on us, and we will serve you.”

Questions
     1) Sooo...Solomon placed a heavy yoke of labor upon his own people, the people of Israel...the people of God? Why did God allow this? Doesn't it say that the LORD gave rest on every side of His people (it mentions this in the beginning chapters of I Kings)? How is there rest on every side if the people are being forced to hold a heavy yoke of labor?

     2) In previous chapters in I Kings it mentions that King Solomon did not put his people, the people of Israel, to the hard/forced labor, right? But here it totally sounds like the opposite is true? What is going on here? Is there or ISN'T there hard/forced labor that the people of Israel are subjected to?

     3) Sooo...the people say to lighten the load and they will serve the new king, right? Does this also infer that if the king does not lighten the load that the people will not serve him?

3. I Kings 12:6-8
6 Then King Rehoboam discussed the matter with the older men who had counseled his father, Solomon. "What is your advice?" he asked. "How should I answer these people?"

7 The older counselors replied, "If you are willing to be a servant to these people today and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your loyal subjects."

8 But Rehoboam rejected the advice of the older men and instead asked the opinion of the young men who had grown up with him and were now his advisers.

Questions
     1) I am curious, since the LORD mentioned to Solomon that He would tear the kingdom away from Solomon's son, is this the way that the LORD chooses to do so? Is He purposely making the new king shun the good advice and happily take the bad advice?

     2) If such is the case, if the LORD is making the new king choose poorly in order to punish Solomon for the 'evil' the LORD claims he did (and how would such a thing punish Solomon anyways when he is already fucking dead?) isn't this an excellent example of divine entrapment? If the LORD is making someone make a particular choice then isn't that indicative of that person NOT willing to make such a poor decision to begin with? If the new king was not going to make that poor decision WITHOUT the purposeful prodding of the LORD...isn't that WRONG what the LORD is doing?

4. I Kings 12:10-11, 13-15
10 And the young men who had grown up with him said to him, “Thus shall you speak to this people who said to you, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but you lighten it for us,’ thus shall you say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s thighs.

11 And now, whereas my father laid on you a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.’”

13 And the king answered the people harshly, and forsaking the counsel that the old men had given him,

14 he spoke to them according to the counsel of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke. My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.”

15 So the king did not listen to the people, for it was a turn of affairs brought about by the LORD that he might fulfill his word, which the LORD spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Questions
     1) Ahhh, I see. It WAS the LORD who put the new king up to this bullshit treatment of his own people, right? Sooo...for something that the new king's father did EVERYONE has to pay because the LORD is pissed that He didn't get enough attention?

5. I Kings 12:16
16 And when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, “What portion do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. To your tents, O Israel! Look now to your own house, David.” So Israel went to their tents.

Questions
     1) Wow...so with one fatal swoop the LORD rips out the carpet from beneath everyone and breaks every promise He made to the people, their ancestors, the previous king, the king before Him, and everyone inbetween?

     2) How in the HELL do people continue to trust this LORD fellow when it is obvious He is quite the lying prick?

6. I Kings 12;18
18 Then King Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was taskmaster over the forced labor, and all Israel stoned him to death with stones. And King Rehoboam hurried to mount his chariot to flee to Jerusalem.

Questions
     1) Sooo...then the people of Israel did participate in the forced labor program? Why does it say differently depending on the chapter of I Kings you happen to be reading?

     2) If Adoram was following orders of the new king whose mind and ability to make better choices for his people had been hijacked by God, then isn't God responsible for sending Adoram to his death by stoning?

     3) Is making the new king flee to another city the little cherry of social unrest that the LORD puts atop His newest Dessert of Disaster?

7. I Kings 12:19
19 So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.

Questions
     1) Hah! This is hilarious isn't it? How many times up to this point in the Bible has the LORD said that He would never forsake His people, would love them, would provide for them, and would sustain them?

     2) Do you think it is possible that when the LORD said He would never forsake, would love, would provide, and would sustain that He really meant that He would never stop harassing His own people, loves to cause great pain upon His people, would be more than happy to provide oodles of misfortune upon misfortune to those He supposedly loves, and would sustain His effort to really fuck people up until they get the friggin clue that this God is not worth the rice paper His scripture is written on?

8. I Kings 12:20
20 And when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. There was none that followed the house of David but the tribe of Judah only.

Questions
     1) And I suppose this is where the groundwork is laid for the proof of the New Testament story that the Jews rebuffed, refused to accept Jesus as the messiah?

     2) Sooo...if the Jews rebuffed Jesus as the Messiah, and if it was because of this bullshit that Rehoboam pulled, and if GOD was the one who made Rehoboam behave in such a goddamn stupid manner toward his people...uhmmm, isn't GOD the reason He was refused by His own people when He morphed into Jesus to save all of mankind from that bugaboo of sin?

9. I Kings 12:21
21 When Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin, 180,000 chosen warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

Questions
     1) Well, what have we here but fighting within the people who are supposed to be God's people? And why are they fighting? And WHO is making them fight? And WHY is He making them fight?

     2) Does God have a pathological need for attention of ANY type? Does God need this attention all the time and everywhere?

     3) If God has a sicko need to always be the center of attention is this why so many religions and denominations have fought so terribly throughout the history of man?

     4) Is man's constant fighting and bickering over whose God is the true God NOT an argument or problem born of man, but one conceived by God and purposely placed within man? Why would God do this? Would a LOVING God do this to His own people?

     5) If God holds that the little children should suffer unto Him, does He count the children of Israel as fitting into such a category and thus make them all suffer?

     6) Who does God love more? The people of Israel or His pathological need for attention at all costs...including the cost of losing life?

10. I Kings 12:24, 26
24 ‘Thus says the LORD, You shall not go up or fight against your relatives the people of Israel. Every man return to his home, for this thing is from me.’” So they listened to the word of the LORD and went home again, according to the word of the LORD.

26 And Jeroboam said in his heart, “Now the kingdom will turn back to the house of David.

27 If this people go up to offer sacrifices in the temple of the LORD at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn again to their lord, to Rehoboam king of Judah, and they will kill me and return to Rehoboam king of Judah.”

28 So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, “You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

Questions
     1) What the hell kind of mind games is this bastard God/the LORD playing with these people? Isn't this truly sick? Would you do this to your friends or family? Would you want them to do such a thing to you? If not...why the fuckey-doo believe in a deity that detests and mistreats the very people He is supposed to love?

11. I Kings 12:32
32 And Jeroboam appointed a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month like the feast that was in Judah, and he offered sacrifices on the altar. So he did in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he made. And he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places that he had made.

Questions
     1) Uh-oh. The LORD isn't getting all of the attention and He is gonna get pissed, right?

     2) Do you think that when the LORD gets pissed off at the people that He even bothers to remember that they did not even behave in this ridiculous manner until the LORD made them do it?

     3) Is the manipulative character of the LORD/God a very good indicator of the depth of His insanity, insatiable desire for blood, and the lose-lose situation of those He has labeled as His people?

12. I Kings 13:2
2 And the man cried against the altar by the word of the LORD and said, “O altar, altar, thus says the LORD: ‘Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name, and he shall sacrifice on you the priests of the high places who make offerings on you, and human bones shall be burned on you.’”

Questions
     1) Sooo...not only is this pathological deity controlling everyone in the worst ways with His mighty powers, but He even tells the people of the terrible things He is going to do to them? Does this strike you as absurdly smug?

     2) Sooo...was it not enough that God almost let Abraham sacrifice Isaac, and now God actually wants blood, actually wants the human sacrifice to go through?

     3) Isn't life sacred no matter who you are or where you are from? Why isn't life sacred to God? Is God allowed to treat life anyway He wants since it is supposedly Him Who created all life to begin with?
