Continuing With More Questions From Genesis

Please feel free to post any answers you may have to any question in the comment section at the end of the post. If you choose to use Bible verses as references please be sure to note the passage location. Thank you.

Welcome back! We are continuing with Part III of the questions for the book of Genesis of the Holy Bible. Remember, I will not be giving what I think appropriate answers are for any of these questions...if I even have an answer for any given question. I just want to know YOUR answer. Again, understand that answers of "because God said so" or anything of the like are not acceptable.

If you do not have an answer for any particular question do not worry. I don't even have answers for all of my questions. However, what I want to know is why, considering all of these questions about the Bible to include inconsistencies, WHY would people believe the entire Bible as truth? For me it seems to be utter insanity to believe EVERYTHING in the Bible is truth. I will say there are things in the Bible that do ring true, such as ideas of love being patient and kind and non-judgmental...yada-yada, plucka-plucka. But everything in the Bible literally, absolutely true? No.

The purpose here is that I am presenting you with my questions about the Bible that are part of WHY I DO NOT BELIEVE the Bible to be completely and entirely true, why I do not believe that it is the actual literal words of God. Some of my questions are more on the funny/comedic/sarcastic side and you will find that from time to time I do utilize profanity. Do not allow this to bother you; sometimes questions are about things in verses that are so goddamn stupid that I get pissed and friggin' curse.

Again, here, I am giving you my questions that are part of why I do not believe in the Bible. I DO have answers to some of my questions, but I want to hear YOUR answers. I want to know why you believe the Bible is the entire, actual, factual truth and words of God.

Give me your honest to goodness answers and be specific. Give me a reason to believe.

1. Genesis 3:6
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Questions

      1) If the woman does not yet possess the knowledge of good and evil, how in the hell can she make the assessment that the fruit is good?

     2) Does this verse mean the woman thought that the fruit was 'good' for food in the sense that it looked beautiful and nourishing, and not 'good' in the sense of a good and evil approach?

     3) Can it be argued that when Eve gave the fruit to Adam she was not trying to share her so-called sin or bring him down unbeknownst to Adam, but rather was offering the fruit to him because it was what Eve observed as the beauty of the fruit that was good, and a kind, compassionate, innocent individual who is an help-meet would naturally share the beauty with her partner?

     4) Can it further be argued that in taking the fruit Adam was not being tricked or bamboozled by Eve but that he, too, exhibited an appreciation and desire for beauty?

     5) This verse refers to Adam as Eve's husband. Is it then okay to assume there was a wedding?

     6) If there WAS a wedding which expression of God (Father, Son, or Holy Ghost) served as the witness, which gave Eve away, and which presided over the ceremony?

     7) If there was NOT a wedding did God simply make Adam and Eve and say, "There! You're now married?" and did Adam and Eve have any say in the matter whatsoever?

2. Genesis 3:7
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Questions

     1) Does this verse imply that until Adam and Eve ate of the wrong tree that they were cataclysmic-ally ignorant, in other words, their eyes were totally closed?

     2) If Adam and Eve really were created with their eyes 'closed' wouldn't it be appropriate to find out WHY God would do such a thing in the first place?

3. Genesis 3:8
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Questions

     1) This is one of those really absurd questions that are bound to surface from time to time. God is supposed to be omni-present and everywhere all at once at all times, right?

     2) Did Adam and Eve know of God's omni-presence?

     3) If Adam and Eve DID know of God's omni-presence, God being everywhere all the time, why in the blazing blue did they attempt to hide from the Lord?

     4) How big were the tree trunks in the Garden of Eden? Were the trunks big/wide enough to hide a human figure?

     5) Since God is everywhere and anywhere at absolutely all times from the past to the present and into infinity future, how the hell does He 'walk' in the garden?

     6) Due to His omni-presence (being everywhere all at once) doesn't the idea of God going for a walk in the garden make no goddamn sense whatsoever since, because God IS absolutely EVERYWHERE all at once there is nowhere left for Him to go?

4. Genesis 3:9
But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

Questions

     1) God is all-knowing and thus would know exactly where Adam and Eve are without even needing to ask. So, is God asking a stupid question here to crack a joke or to be an asshole?

5. Genesis 3:10
10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

Questions

     1) If eating the wrong fruit 'contaminated' man and made him bad by nature of sin, why didn't Adam and Eve lie to God about where they were hiding or why they were hiding? Why did they tell the truth when questioned?

6. Genesis 3:11
11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

Questions

     1) Is God asking two more stupid questions here?

     2) Since God already knows the answers of what He is asking Adam and Eve, is He purposely trying to play mind games with them?

7. Genesis 3:12
12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

Questions

     1) Shouldn't Adam's response to God's question be to ask God why the fuck He held back critical information about good and evil and all that happy horseshit?

8. Genesis 3:13
13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Questions

     1) Shouldn't Eve's response to God's question be to ask God why the fuck He neglected to inform them about the wylie serpent?

9. Genesis 3:14
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

Question

     1) So, does this verse mean that before bad things went down in the Garden of Eden the serpent actually, literally had legs?

10. Genesis 3:15
15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Questions

     1) So, in addition to tossing man out of the Garden of Eden, God found it necessary to issue the parting gift of enmity that would be the gift that would keep giving the entire existence of man?

     2) Does God's purposeful action of cursing people who had not even been born yet show that God is the one with the problem of cruelty and control and sadism and injustice?

     3) Can't the fact that the verse says that God is the one Who placed the enmity also be interpreted to mean that even AFTER Adam and Eve had eaten of the wrong fruit that supposedly gave them full knowledge of good and evil which would kill them, there was still no apparent enmity or will to do evil and the very fact that the verse says that GOD PUT IT THERE shows Adam and Eve did not possess such a negative trait?

     4) If Adam and Eve did not possess or exhibit this negative trait of enmity even though they had already eaten of the wrong fruit which gave them full knowledge of all things good and evil, couldn't it be argued that despite them eating of the wrong tree Adam and Eve DID use their freewill to make the right choice with their understanding of good and evil?

     5) I mean, can't it be argued that even though both Adam and Eve held within them the full knowledge of good and evil from the very moment they ate the wrong fruit, they still chose to NOT partake in or exemplify enmity; it was something that should be considered as being 'away' from them since for it to be part of them God had to put it there by command?

     6) Isn't God's actions in this verse more or less saying, "I'm gonna fuck things up for you," because maybe God is a sadist?

     7) Is God's action of placing enmity the reason why the Middle East is so goddamn fucked up a majority of the time?

11. Genesis 3:16
16 To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

Questions
     1) Why in the hell does God curse the future generations?

     2) Why seek to inject pain, great pain at that, on women?

     3) Is the reason God gives curses so freely to remind people WHO really has all of the power and control, to dangle in front of the human mind that no matter what man does or how hard he tries or how good he is...GOD will always have the last say regardless, and you can bet that what God has to say will absolutely have to do with pain?

     4) Is the last part of this curse the reason why so many marriages fail, why so many men cannot seem to listen for shit and why so many men screw around?

12. Genesis 3:17
17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life.

Questions
     1) God curses the ground here. Why? Why curse something that is totally unrelated to Adam and Eve's supposed disobedience?

     2) Is God's purpose for cursing man from so many different angles to make things as absolutely difficult as possible for human beings?

     3) If God really IS purposely trying to make things as difficult as possible for man, is His reason for doing so to frustrate man so deeply that instead of looking within himself for strength and answers man will in error believe that he has no power and no control to fix anything (let alone do anything right), and thus is forced to turn to God for assistance?

As Per God's Own Instruction: The Fairer Sex

Less Knowledgeable, Less Understanding, Less Deserving

Galatians 3:28 says, "There is neither Jew not Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Well, the above verse certainly SOUNDS like women are well respected and cared for and included and appreciated in the Bible. In fact, this is one of the top ten verses that Christians cite when trying to disprove the utter ugliness with which women in the Bible are treated.

I think it is absolutely and entirely deplorable when Christians very loudly and confidently claim that in their Bible there is a plethora of proof as to the respect and love and adoration that God and Jesus had for women. From the beginning to the end of the Bible, one of the most revered of divine texts of all time, it is stuffed chock full of evidence that God and Jesus gave a goodgoddamn about women. There are very few examples of women that are positive in nature and oten times many of those examples seem to be derived of the selfishness of God or Jesus and whatever it is that they want.

This video clip presents some interesting verses that outline the treatment of women (as so commanded by God, no less), and even takes the time in the little cartoon at the beginning to make it appear as though Adam had no idea whatsoever as to what Eve was up to. In His persistently lopsided punishments that He is notorious for God punishes Adam for listening to the woman.

Notice that in the Bible it totally makes it appear as though this ginormous fuck-up (the Fall of Man) is the result of Eve's decision alone. Eve is the mastermind, the wrong-doer, the instigator, the root of the problem. Notice that Adam is not punished for Eve's act, but rather he is punished for listening to Eve. There IS an important distinction to be seen here.

Within the first twenty-five words of this video you get the impression that the presence of women is not exactly something that is appreciated and respected. Instead it seems like there is a tentative, begrudging tolerance of women. Don't allow women to teach? Don't allow women to hold a place of authority over a man? I am sure there are those religious groups who if asked would say that these verses apply to positions of authority within the church, not society. Whatever. That is a bunch of shit and Christians who claim such know it. But, like a good slave does all that he can to prove his loyalty and worth and fear and love (albeit delusional love) many believers are one hundred percent ready and willing to do anything...including mistreating women.

This is how your Christian God commands you treat your women. Remember, since ALL scripture is supposed to be God-breathed and profitable for teaching you cannot try to save your ass by claiming this verse or that verse no longer applies. If ALL scripture is truly God-breathed and profitable for teaching there would be no need to change anything about the verses or to not follow them anymore because times have changed, right? I mean, you can't have it both ways. ALL scripture either is or is not good for teaching and applicable to all humans every where throughout all time. Obviously this is a HUGE fail for the Bible.

Not all of the verses portrayed in this video are about the mistreatment of women, but a good number of them are. Enjoy.

Oh how the mistakes of a man in the Bible are so often blamed upon a woman of cunning, calculation, deceit, trickery...the list goes on and on, right? I think it just might be a case of vagina envy. Seriously. I think  for some males in some cultures they just do not like the idea that for as strong as men are supposed to be, it is the women who carry and nurture nations within themselves.

The women have far more to give to everything that is LIFE because the woman's womb is the cradle of life. For as close as the warring men in the Bible want to come to ultimate power and control and ultimate creative authority the men will never, ever be as fulfilled in life and as powerful as a woman. The men know it and have no shame whatsoever in showing their jealousy toward women by behaving in abominable ways.

This is an interesting video. The lady kinda rambles a bit at the beginning, but it gets better. I think she raises some valid points that are worth a gander.

This is some serious bullshit. In the process of trying to prove that God and Jesus very dearly love women in the Bible this video seemingly leaves out an awful lot of the shitty treatment of women, going the distance to do whatever it takes to keep as much power out of female hands as possible. Rubbish.

Yep, this video is the continuation of the video directly before this one. Don't you want to be blessed by God and Jesus? Then you have to follow what God says about women and follow all instructions to the letter. If you do not listen to how God says to treat women you just may lose your salvation. The voice of the narrator in these films seems to have an inflection of 'hah-I-told-you-so' with just an added dab of 'see-men-are-better-then-women-after-all'.

God has zero respect for women. That in and of itself totally revokes all of the kudos God earned for doing anything good in the Bible. Of course, God goes further than just showing a complete lack of respect for women, and goes on in the Bible to command and encourage terrible treatment of women in the worst ways possible. Lovely. Since His original disrespect for women revoked all of His kudos and God therefore has no more that may be revoked...here God is given demerits. Loads and LOADS of demerits.

The Bible documents historical facts? What a load of shit. Listen to what the freaking narrator has to say in this video. He is trying to make an excuse for the poor treatment of women in the Bible. You cannot be a Christian and follow SOME of the Bible and not ALL of the Bible. That makes no sense. By the proofs and requirements of the Bible's own verses Christians MUST take ALL of the Bible as absolute truth. This means the bullshit excuse making of this video fails. Nice. Women are honored equally in the Bible? WHERE? Jesus did more for women than any other group or individuals...ever? You're HIGH!! Jesus Christ! You people can't even come up with a good enough lie to cover for your bigoted and chauvinist God.
